Christmas in Seleus/Saros
All over the world people have their own Christmas traditions, and the Roma villages are no exception.
One of these traditions is that all the kids in the villages get a new pair of boots and every child that goes to school get a "shoe-box" Christmas gift. With the cold temperatures here in Romania, its great to see the kids wearing something warm on their feet, and the joy of getting a Christmas gift sent from a school in the western world is obvious.

Giving out the boots we got to go from house to house, letting the children try out different sizes and taking time to speak to the families. This was a lot of work, but a lot of fun!
For the Christmas gifts the kids lined up outside the school, and their teachers handed them out. We are really thankful that we get to be part of these encouraging Christmas events.
